Dynamic Characteristics of High-speed Water-Lubricated Spiral Groove Thrust Bearing Based on Turbulent Cavitating Flow Lubrication Model

Abstract The water-lubricated bearings are usually the state of turbulent cavitating flow under high-speed conditions. And distribution cavitation bubbles and interface effect between two phases have not been included in previous studies on bearings. In order to study influence bubble dynamic characteristics spiral groove thrust (SGTB).A lubrication model based two-phase fluid population balance equation was established this paper. Stiffness damping coefficients SGTB were calculated using perturbation pressure equations. An experimental apparatus developed verify theoretical model. Simulating results show that small-sized tend generate when at a high rotary speed, mainly locate edges groove. simulating also direct stiffness increased due effect, cross hardly affected by effect.
